Michele recently had to ponder her “calling” when her son was tasked with interviewing his parents about their calling for a school assignment. It sparked a whole discussion about the difference between a job, a calling and a career.
When she worked as a Claims Adjuster at Liberty Mutual, it was a job to pay the bills while her husband pursued his goal of earning a PhD in Organic Chemistry. When she stayed home with her children for twelve years, it was a calling to put all her time and energy into raising her children. When her youngest was in school full time she realized she was ready for a new opportunity.
It was not part of her master plan to re-enter the work force and start take classes at the same time, but when Ritter Daniher provided the opportunity, it felt like a new calling. As she explained to her son, now she is the lucky person who finds her calling coinciding with her career. It is gratifying for her to work with clients as they ponder their own purpose and strategize with them to achieve their goals.
Michele said, "An industry journalist once wrote that we are in one of the rare professions where you can do well by doing good. It is so gratifying to help clients delve into and uncover the plan that they are trying to achieve, and then help them build the action steps to get there."
